How to use PDF to Anki

A complete walkthrough of the current PDF workflow, from choosing the right source pages to downloading a clean Anki deck.

    Upload a text-based PDF

    Drop in a PDF up to 15 MB. The browser reads the page count, extractable text, and embedded table of contents before generation.

    Preview and choose what to study

    Open the PDF workspace, preview pages, select embedded chapters, or add manual page ranges. Long PDFs are never generated from random pages.

    Review skipped pages

    Blank, contents, and common copyright pages are filtered from generation. Check the skipped-page list if you want to verify what was excluded.

    Choose the card settings

    Select Basic or Cloze, choose Concise, Detailed, or Exam-focused generation, set the target card count, and choose the output language.

    Sign in and generate

    You can preview and select content before signing in. Sign in only when you generate so the request can be protected and charged to the correct credit balance.

    Edit the deck

    Review every front and back field, compare the source-page reference, rewrite weak wording, and delete cards you do not want.

    Study or export to Anki

    Use the built-in flashcard review if you want a quick check, then download the native APKG package and import it into Anki.

Before you generate

Choose the smallest page range that contains the material you actually need.
Use Concise for atomic recall, Detailed for richer explanations, and Exam-focused when the source is test-oriented.
Keep source-page references visible while editing so factual corrections stay grounded in the PDF.
Image-only scanned PDFs are not supported yet because the current workflow does not include OCR.
