What this policy covers

This policy describes how pdftoanki.com processes information when you use the public study tools or create an account. It applies to PDF to Anki, PDF to flashcards, PDF to quiz, PDF to notes, Notion export conversion, Quizlet text conversion, and the Anki flashcard generator.

Uploaded study material

When you click generate, selected PDF text is sent to the PDF to Anki server and the configured AI provider to create cards, quizzes, or notes. The original PDF file and extracted source text are not saved to the application database.

For authenticated PDF-to-Anki generations, the service stores the generated cards and a limited source profile with the file name, page counts, approximate source language, document type, and topical tags. This supports reliable retries, account usage records, and aggregate product research without retaining the original PDF or source text.

Do not upload confidential, medical, financial, legally privileged, or personally identifying material. AI provider processing and infrastructure logs may be subject to the provider's own terms and retention practices.

Account information

If you create an account, the service may store your email address, display name, authentication status, credit balance, subscription records, and related account activity needed to operate the account. Optional generation feedback stores the related generation job, helpful or needs-work rating, and any selected improvement reason. Google sign-in is shown only when the required provider credentials are configured.

Cookies and local storage

The service uses essential cookies for authentication and security, plus local browser storage for interface preferences such as theme. Optional analytics may record page and product-stage events, but PDF names, source text, generated cards, and account email addresses are not sent as analytics event fields.

Sharing and service providers

Information is shared only as needed to provide the requested function, such as hosting, authentication, email delivery, payment processing for enabled account features, and AI generation. PDF to Anki does not sell uploaded study material.

Your choices

  • Preview a PDF and choose content before signing in to generate.
  • Avoid uploading sensitive or confidential source material.
  • Request help through the Contact PDF to Anki page.
  • Delete exported results from your own device whenever you choose.

This policy may be updated when the product adds providers, storage, payments, or new input formats. The date above will change when material updates are published. Use the Contact page to report a privacy concern.
